With summer approaching, PenMet Parks expects an increase in visitors to the Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit Park (53 Bella Bella Drive Fox Island, WA 98333). This summer PenMet Parks will once again provide additional site staffing, with contracted security support services, at the Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit Park during high use times to help promote a positive and safe experience for patrons and neighbors.
Site support and security service personnel will be present during the afternoons and evenings on weekends and holidays from June 27th through September 7th to educate visitors on park rules and etiquette, serve as a resource for patrons, and monitor and manage parking within park boundaries. Signage at the park will indicate when there is a park attendant on duty.
The Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit is a special place. You can help make sure everyone can enjoy it by doing the following.
- Park only in designated parking lot and refrain from parking in No Parking areas along the road shoulder on Bella Bella Drive and Island Blvd.
- Leave natural materials such as shells and wood where you found them. Natural materials along the beach serve a critical role in the shoreline ecosystem and removing items from the beach is prohibited in many cases. - Keep pets on leash at all times.
- Do not trespass onto neighboring properties.
- Alcohol, open flames, and fireworks are prohibited at all times.
