Construction for the new indoor Community Recreation Center (CRC) will commence this summer and PenMet Parks is hosting a community-wide celebration.
Everyone is welcome to attend the festivities on Thursday, August 24 at 4:30 PM at the main campus located at 2416 14th Ave NW, Gig Harbor, formerly the Performance Golf site.
“The CRC will be more than a recreation facility,” said Steve Nixon, President of the PenMet Parks Board of Commissioners. “It will be a transformational community hub bringing together families, friends, and neighbors of all ages. We’re excited to celebrate the beginning of construction and invite everyone to join us.”
With an indoor jogging track, multi-sport courts, an indoor turf field, and multiple gathering spaces, the 58,000-square-foot building will support many activities and programs. Along with the building, the miniature golf course will be renovated, and the Cushman Trail expanded as part of the project, creating a comprehensive recreation campus for the community.
There is no need to RSVP for the CRC Groundbreaking Celebration. Attendees are encouraged to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes as this is an active construction site. Carpooling or ride-sharing is encouraged.
More information and an architect conceptual video about the CRC is available on the PenMet Parks website.
