We are thrilled to announce that the PenMet Parks Recreation Center campus is the new home to Pierce County’s first Outdoors for All Adaptive Cycling Center!
Through this partnership with Outdoors for All we are expanding access to adaptive outdoor recreation to our community.
The new center is OPEN! Located on the side of the PenMet Parks Recreation Center, the Adaptive Cycling Center fronts the Cushman Trail extension that runs through the campus.
Adaptive Cycling Center (ACC): Open May 1 – Sept. 30. The center is open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (hours may adjust slightly). Riders with disabilities ages 7+ can enjoy free, on-site use of adaptive cycles, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Whether you’re new to cycling or a seasoned rider, we can’t wait to welcome you.
Outdoors for All is also launching a pilot summer camp program filled with adventure! Campers will explore activities like cycling, swimming, hiking and rock climbing, along with fun community outings to local attractions.
Summer Day Camps (Pilot Program!): June 22 – Aug. 28 (Monday–Friday), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp is based at the PenMet Parks Recreation Center. Cost is $590/week (Financial aid is available through Outdoors for All Foundation. They also offer transportation to and from Tacoma Mall). Summer camp details.
