Parks For All. Parks For Life: 2004 to 2024

The Peninsula Metropolitan Park District was formed on May 18, 2004, by a vote of the people on the Gig Harbor Peninsula, in unincorporated Pierce County. This year, we celebrate twenty years of being deeply rooted in our community, and boldly growing into the future.

Today, PenMet Parks serves approximately 40,000 residents in unincorporated Pierce County, managing nearly 650 acres of parkland within our boundaries that span over 50 square miles and delivering recreational programs and events for all ages and abilities.

See you at the park!

We are Stewards

In 2023, PenMet Parks served more people than ever before and enhanced the quality of life in our community by providing exceptional parks and recreation services for all. The District delivered critical services and advanced the strategic goals that are based on our communities’ priorities.

Reflecting our value of responsibility and our commitment to transparency, the 2023 Annual Report provides an update on the District’s programs and finances.

With Thanks to our Sponsors

New for 2024, our sponsors help PenMet Parks create memorable events year-round for all in our community and contribute to the PenMet Parks Financial Assistance Program.
