WNPS South Sound Chapter – Native Plant Hikes
Saturday, April 30, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
To celebrate Native Plant Appreciation Month, we will lead three groups of 3rd to 6th graders (limit of 5 children + 5 chaperones per group) to match native and invasive plants in the Heritage Garden with flashcards provided to each child. We will describe tips on recognizing plants in the 2-acre garden, discuss how Native Americans used the plants, and advise how to access websites for more information.
Location: Sehmel Homestead Heritage Garden, 10123 78th Ave NW, Gig Harbor
Hike Leaders: Mary Hood, Jane Ostericher, Cyndy Dillon
Departure location: Parking lot near Sehmel Homestead Master Gardener Demo Garden
Number of people: 5 children + 5 adult chaperones per group
For Covid 19 safety, hikers must pre-register with Cyndy Dillon ([email protected]), who will send a link to a mandatory liability waiver when you provide your email address.
