Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What kind of vendors will be present at the event?
A: The majority of the vendors at Scarecrow Festival will be from the Local Makers Market. These are artisans and craftspeople from the greater Gig Harbor area who specialize in artisan jewelry, birdfeeders, crochet amigurumi plushies, resin art, cutting boards, painted rock art, sensory toys, handmade knit apparel, custom engraved tumblers, bath bombs, quilts, and more! There will also be several local businesses, and nonprofit organizations at the event as well.

Q: Where should we park?
A: Sehmel Homestead Park has about 200 parking spots, so carpooling is suggested. We have also set up a shuttle this year which will run continuously from Sehmel Homestead Park(10123 78th Avenue NW, Gig Harbor, 98332) to Gig Harbor High School (5101 Rosedale Street NW, Gig Harbor, 98335). The bus will start itโs rounds at Gig Harbor High School beginning at 10:50am.

- Pink Gorilla Espresso Concession Stand
- Stacks Burgers
- Kiwanis Club (Hot Cocoa & Hot Cider)
- Kona Ice
- Iscreamery

Q: What is a Pumpkin Launcher?
A: You and your family can launch small pumpkins at targets down range at Sehmel Homestead Park using slingshot style launchers. PenMet Parks uses pumpkin launching as a fundraiser for our Recreation Scholarship Fund!
Q: Will there be a scarecrow contest this year?
A: Yes – The scarecrow contest has merged with the vendors this year! All attendees will be able to vote for their favorite scarecrow display integrated into the vendor booths at the event. In the past few years, staff have observed that the majority of the submitted scarecrow displays have been from local businesses or nonprofit organizations. Noting this, we have merged the scarecrow contest with the vendor booth area asking each vendor to participate and have a scarecrow display that the community can vote on. If a community member who is not connected to a business would like to participate in the scarecrow contest, they can reach out to [email protected] to secure a spot for a scarecrow display. In addition, nonprofit organizations do not have any fees to have a vendor booth at the event!
Q: Are you looking for volunteers for this event?
A: Yes! View and select a volunteer role and time below!
Q: How do I become a vendor?
A: We are currently at capacity for vendors at the 2022 Scarecrow Festival.
