PenMet Parks will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. regarding the final 2023 Budget. The public hearing will be held during a Park Board meeting at the Council Chambers at 6:00 pm at the Gig Harbor Civic Center – 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. Residents are invited to attend the public hearing and give comments in favor of or in opposition to the final 2023 Budget.
The Board of Park Commissioners desires to allow a maximum opportunity for public comment. However, the business of the Peninsula Metropolitan Park District must proceed in an orderly, timely manner. The purpose of a Board of Commissioners meeting is to conduct the District’s business; it is not a public forum. The Open Public Meetings Act does not require that members of the public be allowed to participate or speak.
Citizens are afforded an opportunity at each regular and special meetings of the Board of Park Commissioners to offer their comments to the Board. Citizens are limited to a three-minute time limit and may only speak once during the Citizen Comment period at each meeting.
The Board of Park Commissioners encourages the public to attend its Board meetings. All persons who attend Board meetings must comply with Board Policy P10-106 providing for the Rules of Decorum at Board Meetings. This Policy is to preserve order and decorum and discourage conduct that disrupts, disturbs or otherwise impedes the orderly conduct of Board meetings.
