If an item is found, staff will tag and store it for the owner to retrieve. Most items are kept at Sehmel Homestead Park in a secure area, while some exceptions may be held at District Headquarters if found there or scheduled for pickup. Items are stored in labeled bins. Valuables (like phones or jewelry) are stored in a locked container.
To inquire if PenMet Parks has your item, please email us at [email protected]. Please be sure to include your name and phone number as well as a detailed item description, the date (or best guess date) it was lost, and what park it was lost at.
Items not claimed within three weeks will be donated, discarded, or turned over to law enforcement. To claim a lost item, owners must provide a detailed description and valid ID for pickup. For small items, owners may provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return via mail. PenMet Parks will not cover mailing costs. If your item was valuable and not claimed within those three weeks, you may call the Pierce County Property Room at 253-591-5984 or 253-798-7522 to retrieve it.
