Dragon Boats

The Gig Harbor Dragon Boat Team paddles year-long in preparation for our race season, April through September. In a dragon boat, 20 paddlers work as a team to synchronize power and finesse strokes to build toward race readiness.

Lynn Fit

Exercise and Fitness

Our fitness classes are a low-impact cardio workout with a fusion of easy dance moves, marching/walking patterns, and a little kickboxing – all to a fun array of music! Strength training and stretching will follow with a Pilates-style core workout.

Court Sports

NEW this summer! Beginning July 31, we are experimenting with dedicating days and times to certain sports and activities, as well as preserving open times for general play. This experimental schedule is based on your feedback and will run through August 31, 2023.

Co-ed Adult Softball

PenMet Summer Softball season registration opens in late Spring. The season runs primarily Sunday afternoons and some Wednesday evenings during summer. Team captains should register themselves and submit their team roster by the 1st game.

Art Workshops and Classes

Embrace your inner artist while making some new friendships. Each workshop will have you learning and experiencing new and exciting avenues of art!

Tai Chi

Tai Chi promotes health and relaxation through a series of flowing, gentle, movements. Tai Chi develops balance, flexibility, strength, and focus. Our collaborative instructors have over sixty years of experience as students and leaders of Yang-style Tai Chi.

Adult Walking Club

A walk in the great outdoors can help reduce stress and restore our mental health. Would you like to get out and about in nature with other walkers? Join our PenMet Trail Walking Club! We will explore different PenMet Parks trails over 6 weeks. Walking locations include Sehmel Homestead Park, McCormick Forest Park, Rotary Bark Park, and more.

WSU Pierce County Master Gardener Program

The Demonstration Garden at Sehmel Homestead Park is open to visitors every Wednesday year-round from 9am-11:30am. In addition, Pierce County Master Gardener clinics are held at the Demonstration Garden from 10am to 2pm every Saturday from April through September.
