Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is one of our NEW adult programs at PenMet Parks. it’s a low-impact workout that uses your body weight for resistance, focusing on core strength, flexibility, and overall body conditioning. This NEW class begins in May and is set to upbeat music to give you a boost!

Art Exploration

Embrace your inner artist while making some new friendships. Learn the fundamentals and develop your skills in a range of arts and mediums, from watercolor painting to music and mosaic arts.

Fitness Classes

Our fitness classes are a low-impact cardio workout with a fusion of easy dance moves, marching/walking patterns, and more. Strength training and stretching will follow with a Pilates-style core workout.

Outdoor Programs

Time spent in nature can help reduce stress and restore our mental health. We offer fly fishing and you can join our PenMet Trail Walking Club! Walking locations include Sehmel Homestead Park, McCormick Forest Park, Rotary Bark Park, and more.

WSU Pierce County Master Gardeners

The Washington State University Extension Demonstration Garden offers research-based horticulture and environmental stewardship practices for all. The garden is open year-round, Wednesdays, from 9-11:30 AM. From April through September it is also open Saturdays, 10 AM – 2 PM. Volunteer master gardeners host monthly Saturday Garden Talks during the spring and summer season.

Dance & Movement

From line dancing to belly dancing, our dance and movement classes offer something for everyone. Have fun in these low-impact move-to-music programs that are friendly to all body types!

Tai Chi

Tai Chi promotes health and relaxation through a series of flowing, gentle movements. Often called a “moving meditation,” Tai Chi develops balance, flexibility, strength, and focus. No experience is necessary. Choose from beginning through intermediate classes

Shades of Ireland

March 19-28, 2025

Join PenMet Parks and Collette Travel on a ten-day tour of Ireland. Highlights include Dublin, Kilkenny and the River Nore, kissing the Blarney Stone in Killarney, visits to special places like the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher, Limerick and much more. This tour is for adults and seniors.

Senior Fitness Classes

This is an evidence-based strength, balance, and fitness class for older adults who wish to stay active and independent, and to reduce their risk of falling. Specific muscle groups are targeted to enhance strength and balance. The focus of this class is to have fun while exercising with music, chairs, and light weights.

Who could have predicted the huge appeal of this movin’-to-the-music activity? We now offer a class on Tuesdays as well as Thursdays. Staff continue to partner with YouTube to teach a fun variety of dance steps. Come and DANCE!

This fun-filled meet-up is designed for seniors who want to socialize, stay active, and enjoy some friendly competition. Everyone is welcome to participate; no experience is required. Get ready to strike up new friendships while knocking down some pins! Equipment provided by Ocean5.
